Martha Williams incoming correspondence, 1784-1793.

Letters written to Martha Phipps Williams, wife of Samuel, living in Brooklyn, Connecticut. The most interesting letters are from her daughter Lucy Farrington who moved with her husband, Joshua, to establish trade in Trinidad; both of them died there after battling illness for several years. Sally Shattuck, a niece, wrote to Martha about the death of Lucy in 1790, as did Joshua Farrington. In addition there are letters among the Phipps sisters, namely Patty and Sarah, about family matters.
